Manu Gopakumar

I am a 5th year PhD candidate in the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University working with Professor Gordon Wetzstein at the Stanford Computational Imaging Lab. My research interests are centered on the co-design of optical systems and computational algorithms. More specifically, I am currently focused on utilizing novel computational algorithms to unlock high quality 3D and 4D holography and more compact form-factors for holographic displays. My research is supported by a Stanford Graduate Fellowship.

Prior to coming to Stanford, I received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University during which I worked with Pulkit Grover and Aswin Sankaranarayanan.

I am looking for a research position in industry starting in the summer of 2025. Please reach out if you think I could be a good fit!
